Celebrating America and #14
Is it too late to post about the Fourth? Well in any case I am about to. I am all about my summer bucket list and fireworks just happens to be #14. This fourth was one to remember. I started my day off with a stellar job of sleeping in. Then Cory's family came into town. We went to lunch with them in Salt Lake and then ended the day going to the Stadium of Fire. Not going to lie I was a little apprehensive to watch the Beach Boys. I mean they are, well you know....old. OH my goodness they were so awesome. I knew all but two of their songs! Cory's family thought I was an old person at heart and maybe I am but I grew up listening to the Beach Boy's songs. The fireworks were to die for! I really had a wonderful celebration of this wonderful country that we live in!

The Best Day of the Year
I am a madhouse. Blogging has not been on my priority list. Really nothing has but running around and doing a million things. I have been on a steady mission to check all things off my summer bucket list which I will share here. As a grand re entrance into blogville I decided to share my most favorite day of the year..my birthday!!! (That definitely warrants three exclamation points.) For those of you who know I simply adore my birthday. It is the one day of the year that I get to do and be exactly who I want to be. I have no expectations except on for the ones I have for myself. A wonderful day was spent with my dear roommates and finished with a perfect little party. I can't believe I have been the big 2-2 for almost a month now. Yikes! Oh pictures of the party brought to you by the lovely Brittany Nelson. Also the lovely lights you will see were masterfully hung by Cory. He alternated between climbing the roof and climbing into trees to get it to look so beautiful! I loved it. Here is the birthday video too. This video documented the best birthday on record.

Simplicity
"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" -Leonardo da Vinci
Sometimes there are days like today where I just want to be quiet. All I want to do is get rid of all the unnecessary. I want to be my full potential without limiting myself. There is always so much hustle and bustle and I just want to be in the eye of the storm. Today I just want to be me because I can. I want to think about nothing but wide open spaces.
I want to be simple

Take a hike
Hello lovelies! Summer is beginning to show its head. Well sometimes it does....it was 95 on Monday and then dropped to 58 on Tuesday. The weather here is seriously bipolar. I have a summer bucket list that I will have to post soon but I have been busy crossing things off that list. Also Cory came back from Texas this week and started an internship in Salt Lake. So I have busy helping him unload and get organized. I am super glad to have him back! Back to the bucket list one of the things is to do a hike. This is something that I am sure will happen lots but I went for an amazing hike this last weekend. I went with some friends from my ward and we went to American Fork canyon. To get to the actual trailhead we had to have an SUV for three miles of switchbacks. Since all of us college kids only have cars we were not sure how it was going to work out. Thank goodness for Troy and his Honda CRV. We shoved 10....thats right 10 people in the back of this CRV and headed up the trail. I seriously felt like I was in another country with all of us cramped and flying all over the place. Dirt was flying. You get the picture it was so funny! The hike itself was really pretty and well worth it. We hiked to a lake and jumped in. Not to mention it was a glacial run off lake. It was so cold but so fun! It made me want to camp so badly! I am excited to get the summer fun started!!!! This weekend also promises to be a good time.
1. Neon Trees with Cory tonight
2. My dear friend Mandy is coming from Boise to run a marathon and is going to be hanging out with me!
Hope your weekend is spectacular!

Everything is Bigger
Ok here is finally my official post about Texas. I really had so much fun. As I said before the pictures are limited and the video is only parts of the trip but my friends it was a good time. After going to Texas I watch country music videos and feel like I know why they are the way that they are. I definitely recommend giving the south a try! Enjoy!

dirt in your ears
Happy Memorial Day everybody. Remember how I hardly took any pictures in Texas. It was quite the opposite in Idaho this weekend. So hang in there for a good photo time. When Kortni married Jordan and they moved to the farm, I knew it was going to be a good time. Not only was it Memorial day but also Kortni's birthday. I had a blast and had so many fun adventures with my best friend/partner in crime/ sister. It has been funny because recently my sister has started working on the farm. I will call her and she will be just getting off the tractor. This blows my mind! I had to see what she has been up to and this is what we did:
- Went on a hike and found a really cool old house and cemetary
-had my SISTER take me on a tractor ride because she is now pro at driving those around
- milked a cow!
- helped make lots of yummy meals and desserts {my sister has become quite the chef}
- made a run into town for a birthday treat
-carved a watermelon {I totally suggest this activity. It is so funny}
-spent lots and lots of quality time laughing, playing games and enjoying having the best family!
